IHG
Based in the United Kingdom, IHG (Intercontinental Hotel Group) is one of the biggest hotel chains in the world. The chain has several emblem hotel groups with
hotels all over the world.
The first of these. the Intercontinental Group, has been involved in the industry for over sixty years and its website boasts of hotels in over sixty different countries, with 166 hotels, over 56,000 rooms and more hotels in the pipeline.
The second brand of hotel in the chain is the Crowne Plaza group of hotels..
Providing accommodation in urban and resort centres alike, Crowne
Plaza state that there are 366 hotels in the brand, with over
100,000 rooms and, once again, more in the pipeline.
The Hotel Indigo brand is the boutique arm of the group, with 33 hotels and over 4,000 rooms, with more than double that number in the pipeline.
Next in the group is the Holiday Inn brand. Everyone who is familiar with hotels will be aware of the presence of a Holiday Inn. Over 1,300 hotels and almost a quarter of a million rooms worldwide says it all!
Holiday Inn Express, with over 2,000 hotels and almost 200,000 rooms caters for the business men and women who want a short stay. Again, more hotels are in the pipeline!
The Staybridge brand is directed towards those visitors who require slightly longer than the conventional hotel stay. A fast expanding limb of the chain.
The last in the chain and another extended stay brand, with over 250
hotels, to round off one of the largest and most versatile of the
worldwide hotel groups, which is going from strength to strength
regardless of the credit crunch and the subsequent recession.
